How to Get a PAC from giffgaff: Three Official Methods
To get a PAC from giffgaff, choose the free text, account-page or phone route. The code authorises a new UK provider to move your number. It does not close the line immediately or transfer credit and plan allowances.

Choose PAC rather than STAC
Use a PAC when the old number must move. Use a STAC only when the old number can be closed. Turning off plan renewal is a separate payment-setting task.
Use one official request route
| Route | Action | Best fit |
|---|---|---|
| Text | Send PAC to 65075 from the giffgaff number | A working SIM in the UK |
| Online | Open Profile and settings in the original account | Normal account access |
| Phone | Call 43431 from the giffgaff number | A line that can still make calls |
giffgaff says the code normally arrives within 60 seconds and remains valid for 30 days. Save the issue date and switching information with it.
Handle a request from outside the UK
Current giffgaff guidance requires the requester to be in the UK. If self-service fails abroad, contact an agent from the original account and prepare the mobile number, member name and registered email.
Act within 30 days after deactivation
A number deactivated after prolonged inactivity has a short PAC route. Ask an agent within 30 days of deactivation. After that, the number may have returned to the pool and may no longer be recoverable.
Check the code before the handoff
- check_circleConfirm the old number.
- check_circleCheck the 30-day expiry.
- check_circleRead contract and charge information.
- check_circlePrepare an active SIM or eSIM from the receiving provider.
An unfinished 18-month contract may generate an early termination charge. Requesting the code alone does not cancel service; the receiving provider starts the actual port.
