giffgaff includes 20GB more and accepts eligible existing members

The giffgaff student plan costs £10 a month and includes 100GB plus unlimited UK calls and texts. The student benefit lasts 12 months while the qualifying plan remains on recurring payment. The current offer opened on 4 August 2026 and must be activated by 4 August 2027.

Eligible existing members can change the account email to a valid .ac.uk address, then buy the student plan or set it as the next plan. One student email can be used for one account. A later change to a non-student email can remove eligibility at renewal.

The student page includes up to 5GB of EU roaming. Frequent UK-EU travellers should include the allowance and excess charges in the comparison.

VOXI lowers the trial cost with a free month and social zero-rating

The consistently verified VOXI student tier costs £10 for 80GB and includes the first month free. GoCertify verifies student status, and the terms limit the offer to new customers. The saved payment method is charged after the free month unless the plan is paused or cancelled before renewal.

Selected social apps do not use the general allowance in the UK. Voice and video calls, third-party advertising and linked websites can still use data, so the value depends on how the phone is used.

VOXI runs on Vodafone and supports eSIM. Most Europe Zone destinations require a separate Roaming Pass, and UK social zero-rating does not carry over unchanged while roaming.

Choose with coverage, usage and roaming together

  1. 1

    Check the places that matter

giffgaff uses O2 and VOXI uses Vodafone. Check accommodation, campus and commute postcodes, then test indoors after arrival.
  2. 2

    Check where the data goes

Regular use above 80GB favours giffgaff. Heavy use of VOXI's selected social apps may make 80GB sufficient.
  3. 3

    Price European travel

giffgaff includes up to 5GB of EU roaming on this student plan. VOXI requires a Roaming Pass in most European destinations.
  • check_circleChoose giffgaff when O2 coverage is proven, monthly use is high, or an existing giffgaff account qualifies for the student offer.
  • check_circleChoose VOXI when Vodafone performs better, selected social apps dominate usage and the free first month is useful for testing.
